Immucor’s business is truly a matter of life and death. A leading provider of blood transfusion and organ transplantation diagnostic products, Immucor helps patients receive safe, accessible, and affordable blood and organ matches.
The seven building Atlanta headquarters campus of this global corporation encompasses Class 10 and Class 100 clean rooms, general laboratory space, high end medical office space, call centers, employee and customer training centers, and shipping and receiving warehouses.
As Immucor’s prime general contractor for the last decade+, Leapley has completed more than 50 projects throughout the campus, ranging from specialized biomedical construction to office, training facility, and warehouse renovation.
The curve ball
A year or so into our relationship with Immucor, they contacted us. They had received a curve ball: a surprise FDA inspection created an urgent need to make repairs around their walk-in coolers. With one month to complete the work before the next inspection, Leapley made the required changes and Immucor passed.
The biggest challenge
There are challenges in each of the widely varied spaces at the Immucor campus, but one of the biggest is accomplishing our work in occupied space and operational labs. Due to the nature of the client’s business, work in these spaces must be done on very compressed schedules to minimize interruption to their critical operations.
Over the course of our long relationship, Leapley has accrued a deep understanding of the unique aspects of the Immucor campus and demonstrated our ability to listen to their needs and adapt to the ever changing canvas of a progressive corporation. We strive to be a dependable extension of the Immucor family, to accommodate all construction requests, and support Immucor’s policies and initiatives.
